1. Open the product in Manufacturing Process Planner.4 @% m9 ?2 S# R0 y: j a; ~7 q+ ]
Bring the product into Manufacturing Process Planner before associating& z0 N$ F2 G) C8 N' a) |
a process structure with a product. The product is typically designed4 \; b0 E& O5 _
with an independent application and loaded into the database. Once in
& a& v& C7 j$ F3 M) p/ [2 R( Xthe database, it can be included in a product structure and opened in
3 g3 o7 ~6 m( f, \; V3 h" rManufacturing Process Planner.! m) A* e3 e G0 }8 R' Q: C

2. Define the work area.) D/ p4 R3 j2 \0 t A1 I, P
These are the locations in the plant where various operations are: u+ v7 ^" n9 Q: Q% U2 R' \: F- E
performed. They are described by their location on the shop floor and
! L7 Y2 z) q; m( a) Fthe process capabilities they provide. Any number of work areas can be

) b% l6 D. I1 J0 p" n* C. K+ W3. Create a process structure.3 f& f& e/ L1 y- K0 o1 V$ \
This specifies the sequence of operations and activities during the
! I- t5 ]" v S+ jmanufacturing process. You can specify the operations and activities that
' I$ B, B8 u, j+ d, k7 |can be completed in a parallel process, and the preceding processes to& Z- ~0 p% _0 y6 p0 m: _
complete before others can begin. As you build the process structure, you1 k5 j, G4 G+ x' q2 N8 N
can specify items that are consumed by the process, and you can assign

4. Create a workflow by sequencing your operations.$ L. ?/ L, F! j5 D+ q' U- D0 s- W
This defines the individual operations and activities used to manufacture' E; ]4 l( ?; [6 t' E5 D8 R
a product. As you create the structure, attach the resources used in each
+ f- ^8 M( D5 [" uoperation and activity.

Assign target items to the processes and operations to associate specific

the processes are performed.
